@ErgonomicChair sorry you wrong your source is incorrect check again.
@Yoetah its on display at the canadian museum .
@SSaiyan6 they have already the words are the same
Or, they reveal that people not related in anyway to jesus wrote 95% of the bible based of folk lore of their time. And the religious institutions we hold so dear would crash and burn based off this information? Just a hypothetical. For one thing theres a VERY good reason they are not revealing it to the people.
95% my bad mostly textual variations and slip of the pen..
and the other things are commentary and other things that differ with what we have..if anything they confirm what we have 100%
I better idea let us make another version of the bible according to the dead sea scrolls because they are older than the medieval . and that what isreal fear .
According to those who’ve tried to gain access to the Scrolls, they report little has been released. Why?
Because they tell us how we we’re created and that doesn’t sit well w/the current power structure.
Who and what power gives these pathetic fucks the right to withhold what’s our inherit right to have access to?
I’ll tell you who and what but you’d run scared like children. Time for humanity to grow up and take back what we possess but have had mechanically shrouded!
The music, from “hero”?
No
98%
dead on yes some had more than what we have yes
but from the sources Ive read they are dead on.
Actually, its been found massive differences and excluded stories etc.. Sorry mate.
They show some really different things, and some of them are “gospels” possibly, which would mean that many gospels were discarded, but that is already a well known fact as the bible was voted on what scriptures to have or not to have during a conference in the Roman empire.
Cheers ^_^
The significance is that all of the Old Testament books were discovered in these scrolls accept for the book of Esther. Through textural critisim we find that the only difference in translation to the Bible is the word light and a few verbs. It shows that the Old Testament Prophesies in the Bible are pretty much dead on with their translations. There is also a piece of the book of Matthew. This shows that the Bible hasn’t been tampered with as much as non-believers would have you think.
Why do people seem to take some mystical meaning from the dead sea scrolls? Is it just because of the cool sounding name? Because it sounds to me like they’re mostly interesting historical documents with slight relevance to various religious factions. Or do they prophesy the apocalypse or something. Can anyone sum up in brief for me or send me a useful and concise link?
No problem!
I’m sorry i haven’t read your comment fully and didnt read the observation you made between the two kinds of baptism.
oops,
Charlesworth who they interview most definitely isn’t one of those scholars.
Just asking – who is arguing it?
some scholars argue that it was a practice.
Oh wait.. its under the spam section.
I cant even read back my own comment on this video. So I have no idea what I said.
Barry, Since it appears you do not know; I’ll answer that question.
Arabs are older brothers to Issac Jews;
That is they are descended from Ishmael who was 13 years old the time of Issac birth and the Bar-mitzbah is based on this act of Ishmael being cast out into the world of adulthood.
Ashkenazim are not even Semites; therefore DNA impossibility for them to be descendents of Abraham.
Barry, One should alsos ask why woould a Jewish General be on the Staff to the Roman General responsible for destroying the Temple.
The fact that you raise is that the Dead Sea Scrolls are the proeprty of the Peopel of the UNGA 181 State of Palestine.
No, the leader of the Essenes was not the Messiah. The Essenes were awaiting the Messiah – and from the Dead Sea Scrolls we know they were expecting two Messiahs which they did not believe had come or was their leader.
Allegro was very much a fringe scholar with regard to the DSS.
Pretty good video except for at 2:47. The voice over claimed the “immersion in water as a symbol of the washing away of sins.” They were correct when they were talking about ritual purity, but incorrect in that regard. Remission of sin Baptism was not an Essene (or Qumran sectarian) belief or practice.
