You should read a great book by Ray Yungen that can be ordered anywhere, or through lighthousetrails the publsihing co. In it he talks about a lot of this same stuff, but he also teaches that a mystical experiencencial prayer that is more Eastern empty your mind meditation that many religions use. It has seeped into the church under the label "contemplative spirituality" where you connect through experience all the reigions, where in all is God and God is all. This is really good and accurate.
