I understand, just doing the best I can with them
the so called “church fathers” were against this gospel because it essentially puts the individual in charge of their spiritua life…which was Jesus’ essential message. The fact that Jesus didn’t write anything is proof of that.. To his true followers- His silence says much. For them, the noise of the lying church fathers can not overpower the silence of Christ
Jesus says;
Verily, verily is say unto you, not Adam nor the patriarchs, have reached it, only I know the way, follow me and you will get there.

…The only authentic words we find are those that the author of the G of T borrowed from the canonical Gospels; and it is clear that this author indeed borrowed from the canonical Gospels and not vice versa since the words of Jesus that the author of the G of T are often taken out of their context and thus don’t make sense in the G of T as they do in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
The sayings in the Gospel of Thomas are clearly not the authentic words of Jesus when one studies the text. This text is full of Platonic ideas, sayings that were later upheld by the Manichean sect of the 4th century, and teachings and dialogues that are totally foreign to any kind of Jewish background or thought…
This is such a powerful text. I find it somehow rather sad it’s not a human voice filled with passion reading it.

God is the action. And we are the action. Therefore we are the children of the Living God… Why? because of motion and rest. If we realize this, we are Him, in the sense that He becomes us. If we do not, we are not him, but on our own doing. On the day you were one, you then became two, and now that you’re two… what will you do?
This is quite a different message than you are used to hearing from the Catholic Bible, which is used by most so-called Christians. Give it a listen. It may appeal.

don’t take these to literal. in most gnostic teachings theres an underlying teaching, The general idea of all religons is the same, theres more to it than most people know of, religous and non religious.
people should be concerned with the original intent, not what it’s become now.
everything degenerates from its original origin, even darwinism as its known now is different than Darwins ideas. and even contredict darwins beleifs. Fanaticism is the problem, not religons, or science.
its not a belief. Many take it as a belief system only, but theres teachings within them that most people dont think twice about. or lack perception to see thing most people overlook.
I didn’t watch the video because I don’t necessarily want to get into this subject tonight after reading a few comments, but most of you should realize, and be constantly aware of, the fact that your bible has been censored numerous times. Much has been left out, even more has been altered.
Love your God if it gives you comfort, do not rely on IT. My understanding is that God ONLY rewards action–interpret that any way you wish.
Well, for one, acting too hastily has obvious consequences. As does speaking before thinking.
Secondly, prayer is simply a way to legitimize apathy. If you are always allowed to beg for forgiveness, even as a rapist in prison, then why bother living a decent life? If you can pray for protection, why learn to defend yourself?
Also.. Giving to Charity does not make one charitable. You are simply giving money to an organization who will squander the majority of it rather than physically acting.

i think Thomas fell off the Turnip truck when we turned that last bend or her was not talking to the True Jesus Christ. He said Jesus told him these 3 things of greatness.
1 If you fast — You will bring sin on yourself !
2 if you pray — you will be condemnd !
3 If you give to charity — you will harm ! yourself !
If I told you these words of Greatness what would you tell me ? Before you speak No I’m not going there !
He meant that all you do must be done with real intent. Don’t fast just because your religion requires you to, but because you mean it.. Don’t give to charity if you really don’t mean it for it is worse than not doing anything.
Same with repentance.. It is not enough to pray 800 prayers if don’t really feel sorry for what you did. That is worse than not repenting at all.. at least you were truthful to yourself.
He said something that is so true.. I was seeking and I never stopped until I found, once I found I was disturved cause I relized we had lived a complete lie all our lives and now after I learned more I am marveled

Given that almost everything in this so-called gospel contradicts what is in the Bible, and given that a belief system that contradicts itself is by definition false, then what you have said is that the Christian God doesn’t exist.
So who exactly is blessing you or giving grace??
the real Jesus’ date isnt known, its posible he was real, its said in other gospels that Jesus made his life a teaching, so its possible he choose 12 diciples to serve as a parable, in his life teaching, in a way you could see him living his life and making his life the teaching through his actions. And possibly having a deeper meaning and teaching that wasn’t public.
But to me the history isn’t too important, its what they are trying to teach, and its much deeper than most would think. =)
If those who guide you say: Look,
The Kingdom is in the sky,
Then the birds are closer than you.
If they say: Look,
It is in the sea,
Then the fish already know it.
The Kingdom is inside you,
And it is outside you.
When you know yourself, then you will be known,
And you will know that you are the child of the Living Father;
But it you do not know yourself,
You will live in VAIN
And you will be VANITY.
NOT POVERTY.
This speaks of the Ego and true states of being, do not reduce it to nonsense.

I believe these teaching come from an advanced being or beings that sought to aid us after being left in disarray.
They pulled up their hoods, stepped forth into the world and began to teach.
Jesus the Sun God i believe to be no more than the sun, and the 12 deciples the 12 signs of the Zodiac (that we are aware of).
Astrotheology.
Faith is not a word i would ever use.
You believe this “he” is wise, and therefor
you submit to him entirely.
Not understanding at all.
Jesus said: if you fast you will be condemned and if you give to charity you will harm your spirits……..thats not right?!!!
